Class: Courtesan

So what if someone wants to play a character like Inara from Firefly? Lady Jessica Atredies? Ros from Game of Thrones? Is there room in an adventurer’s party for someone who is part of the team, but whose skills are with people and intimacy instead of murder and eldritch powers? I believe there is, and with the amount of lewd fantasy comics as well as intrigue based fantasy stories out there seems to be people who agree with me. So to this end I’m presenting a courtesan class. This class covers characters whose focus is personal relationships, sex, and intrigue. The courtesan is a non-combatant but like any adventurer, at higher levels can be quite formidable and they pick up many skills along the way. This class is about perception, gathering information, seducing, distracting and manipulating. She is a spy and an information broker. She is also a seductress and beguiler and can ruin lives and destroy nations.

Prime Requisite: Charisma
Experience Bonus: +5% if Cha is 13-15, +10% if Cha > 16
Hit Dice: d4
Maximum Level: 36

Equipment Restrictions
The Courtesan is prevented from wearing any sort of armor. Physical mobility and a striking appearance is necessary for the class, so a large wardrobe with alluring clothes is usually owned by this class. Concealable weapons, whips, and civilian dueling weapons (rapier, pistols and the like) are the only weapons allowed.

Weapons Proficiency
Courtesans start with two weapon slots and add new slots at the same rate as wizards.

Item Use
Courtesans are able to use magic items as a Thief

Courtesans gain 1d4 plus Con bonus to hit point every level up to 9th and +1 each level there after. They advance in THAC0 as a wizard.

Saving Throws
Courtesans gain levels as a thief.

Special Abilities
Courtesans have unique abilities that utilize their charisma and erotic powers. Courtesans also gain some magical ability at higher levels. In a deeply magical world, certain spells are necessary to be able to ply their trade. Their spell list is found here.

Always the charmer, if a courtesan is facing an opponent that is sexually compatible with them, the PC can add their Charisma bonus to their AC in addition to their Dexterity bonus.

The courtesan is able to distract opponents. If the opponent is sexually compatible, the courtesan can attempt to distract them with a choice phrase or pose. 3 times a day, when attempting an action, (to-hit, saving throw, skill check, etc.), the courtesan can roll a d6 and subtract that from the opponents d20 roll. If the roll is a percentile, each pip of the d6 equals 5%.

Courtesans are also able to Pick Pockets and Hear Noise as Thieves.

Higher Levels
At 9th level a Courtesan can become a Madam/Souteneur and open a Brothel. Usually in urban centers, these houses of pleasure can be hubs for intrigue and plots. The fate of nations can be decided here, and the Courtesan sees all. The Brothel will attract 2d4 1st level Courtesans looking for work and improvement in their lives.
